1. Lay one cross brace down with the ends bowing up.

2. Lay second cross brace across the first cross brace with the ends bowing down.

To tell which way the bow goes in a cross brace, lay it on a table and turn it so that you can see the holes in the end when looking parallel with the table. The cross brace will rock or you will be able to see a space under the middle of it (as shown in the picture below).

3. Make sure that both larger holes are on the same side.

  • (The flatter sides of the
    ends of the cross braces
    should be towards the
    outside.)

  • 4. Bolt center of cross braces together with 1/4" x 1 ½" hex bolt and 1/4" nut. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.

    5. Lay the T-frame with the square part on top and the round axle on the bottom.

    6. Put the end of the braces with the larger hole over the axle on the T-frame.

    7. Slide or tap each cross brace about 2" onto the axle.

    8. Turn the T-frame and cross braces upside down and lay the cross braces on the name plate along side the handles (the round axle will be on top of the square tubing).

    9. Slide the holes in the cross braces onto the bolts that are already in the top holes in the name plate and handle.

    10. Secure all four items together on each side with 5/16" lock nuts (name plate, upper handle, handle splicer, and cross brace). Do not tighten nuts at this time.
